Why We Built This Site
Public access under the Georgia Open Records Act does not place every record in one database. Lee County Sheriff maintains incident, arrest, booking, and confinement material at the Criminal Justice Center, while Clerk Sara Clark’s office at the Lee County Courthouse holds Superior Court criminal filings and dispositions. GCIC maintains the statewide criminal-history repository. We organize the official contacts, search channels, costs, and request procedures without merging those distinct records.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and read in Lee County
- Agency contacts: the Lee County Sheriff, Superior Court clerk, municipal courts, and statewide record systems
- Official-check explanations: the difference between Georgia Felon Search, a GCIC personal history, and fingerprint processing through GAPS
- Record-restriction guidance: the roles of the arresting agency, prosecutor, GCIC, and court under O.C.G.A. §35-3-37
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Lee County, the State of Georgia, or any court or law-enforcement agency. Accordingly:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file record-restriction requests, public-records requests, or other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that a listed fee, office hour, address, or telephone number has not changed
An official copy must come from its custodian: for example, the Lee County Sheriff, the proper court clerk, or GCIC. This site only explains how to reach those offices.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate search boxes that appear on some pages. They control their results, terms, and prices. A paid registration reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports this free resource; we neither set the charge nor control the returned information.
