Official Lee County records must be requested from the government office that keeps them. The contacts below distinguish the courthouse, Criminal Justice Center, city agencies, and Georgia repository so a request reaches the proper custodian.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately run guide cannot retrieve or certify records, perform an official check, correct repository data, or accept a record-restriction filing. Contact the responsible public office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Here's where to look for the records most people ask about in Lee County:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Arrest, booking, jail, and sheriff reports: Lee County Sheriff’s Office, 119 Pinewood Road, Leesburg, GA 31763; (229) 759-3334; weekdays 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Superior Court criminal files and warrants: Lee County Courthouse, 100 Leslie Highway, P.O. Box 49, Leesburg, GA 31763; (229) 759-6018; weekdays 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • General county records: Open Records Clerk Kaitlyn Good, 102 Starksville Avenue North; (229) 759-6000; kaitlyn.good@leecountyga.gov. This office does not replace the court or sheriff custodian.
  • State criminal history: GCIC CCH/Identification Services; Georgia Felon Search provides a limited name-based felony-conviction search, while broader personal reviews follow GCIC rules.
  • City-created reports: request them from Leesburg or Smithville rather than the county’s general clerk; Smithville Police is (229) 903-0208.
  • Record restriction: follow O.C.G.A. §35-3-37 with the arresting agency, appropriate prosecutor, GCIC, and court as the case requires.

For sheriff-held material, use the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, 119 Pinewood Road, P.O. Box 610, Leesburg, GA 31763, (229) 759-3334. Criminal and civil court records instead belong with the Superior Court clerk at the courthouse.
